SAE Sydney - Studio Booking System
General Studio Rules
- If you are running late, you must let the supervisors know at least 15 minutes prior to the session commencing.
- No food or drinks allowed in the studio. If you are caught with either, your session will be terminated.
- You must vacate the studio by the time your booked sessions have ended.
- Taking microphone stands from other studios is not allowed; you must speak to a supervisor if equipment is required.
- You must sign in and out of the studios before and after your session.
- Your student pass must be on display at all times.
- Remember to back up your work. Every 24 hours the Candidates Folders are cleared.
- The studio pack down standard must be adhered to.
- If you need to cancel your session you must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to Studio Supervisors. Failure to do so will result in your booking privileges being suspended for two weeks.
- No Shows are not tolerated. If you do not show up to a session your booking privileges will be cancelled for two weeks, no exceptions!
- Students are not to leave without studio being inspected and equipment checked.
- If the supervisor is busy you are not allowed to leave the equipment and go, as anything that goes missing or is damaged is the student’s responsibility. If we are busy you will need to wait.
- Students are to be packed up 15 mins prior to the end of your session. NO EXCEPTIONS! All files need to be backed up prior to the end of your session.
- All chairs need to be returned to the same place that you got it from.
- Students must only bring members of the public into the studio facilities when they are there for the express purpose of contributing to a recording, for example a musician. Members of the public not associated with the recording must not be brought onto the premises under any circumstances unless approved by Studio Supervisors.
- No external studio equipment should be used in any of the studios without prior consent from the Studio Supervisors.
Live Room Rules
- All Studio Live Rooms will need to be packed up properly. All mic stands will need to be against the wall with all mic extension retracted. Mic stands will need to be ordered from biggest to smallest and in that fashion only.
- All mic stands not from that room will need to be returned to the room that you got it from.
- All baffles and music stands need to be put up against the wall and not left on the Ledges of studio windows or in the middle of the room.
- All rubbish including tape, guitars strings, paper and etc will need to be thrown in the garbage.
- Before you finish your session a supervisor will need to inspect and ensure you have complied with studio rules.
Control Room Rules
- Studio control rooms need to be tidy. Chairs to be pushed in under the desk and extra chairs put to one side neatly.
- Console will need to be normalized and all necessary equipment turned off.
- All rubbish is to be removed and thrown in the garbage.
Studio Equipment Rules
- All equipment that is loaned from the studio needs to be returned and checked before you leave. You cannot drop your equipment off without it being checked and approved by the supervisor.
- All cables need to be rolled properly, anything that is not rolled properly will be returned to students to be rolled again.
- All microphone adapters need to be returned, any microphone clip that came with an adapter already attached will need to come back in the same manner.
- Headphones need to be rolled properly and the adapters returned.
- All equipment will need to be inspected prior to being returned, it is the student’s responsibility for anything that is damaged. If you notice a damaged piece of equipment when you receive your gear, this will need to be reported as soon as you see it otherwise it will be assumed you may of damaged it.
Banning Information
Should you break any of the rules listed above, you may be banned from using the studios for a period of 2 weeks.
Starting from Jan 2012, any sessions that have been booked that fall within the banning period will be canceled.
